Winter Photography
Saturday 25th February saw the Steam railways winter photography which saw a train run from Douglas to Santon with photos stops at Ellenbrook, Crogga glen and Santon itself. The train consisted of No.13 (with her new snow plough) H1,M1,Gr.12,F.26 and F.49 (in her new paint job). The train was packed and whilst at Santon passed both north and southbound trains before returning to Douglas where a BBQ was provided by the Tickethall. Afterwards the was staged photographs in the yard with No.12 and No.13.
Blow away the cobwebs
Today was the blow away the cobwebs train and lets say the weather wasn't the best at the best of times. The day was full of rain, cold winds and when it wasn't that it was grey and dull. All this making quite hard photographic chances. This is the one time a year the railway engines have their whistles swapped for chime whistles attached by the workshop staff.
The train was hauled by No.12 with coaches F46,F47,F29,F30,F32
This has been a busy but wet end to the year for the railways.
